JOY AT MY STORE–ANOTHER BIBLE JUST WALKED OUT THE DOOR!
October 21, 2014–Free Bible!
The Bible is a wonderful book. So wonderful, I give them away for free at my retail store.
I was on my way out the door just about 20 minutes ago when a Spanish gentleman smoking a cigarette came to the door. I was going to take an employee five minutes away to drop him off at the metro. The customer asked if he could see if we had any small desks for sale. I suggested he come back tomorrow; my employee said, “Go ahead and take a look, sir!” So we let him in.
He checked out the store quickly and said he would come back tomorrow. Then, on his way out, he noticed the free Bibles by the front door. He got excited. He took a Bible in Spanish and thanked me profusely. I gave him an Articles of Faith card and told him that was the bookmark for the Bible. I also told him that on the back was what Mormons believe. He thanked me again as he walked back out to his van. He stated more than once, speaking of the Bible, “I need this! I really need this!”
On another occasion a lady came in and asked if she could take three or four with her. I told her of course. Some inmates at a prison in West Virginia love to study the Bible each day. She needs more bibles for them. I happily provided her with the copies she needed. It was a win-win for everybody!
It’s wonderful to watch people get excited about a free Bible. Giving them away is that simple. It pays to have them in Spanish too. Put the gospel in a language people can understand. That’s critical. Lots of fun to watch too!
The Reeses peanut butter cups don’t hurt either…!
