Joy at the Intersection
Sometimes missionary opportunities are waiting for you right in the middle of the street. Joy at the Intersection is one such example.
Read Their Sign
I wasn’t surprised to see someone panhandling from the middle of the intersection; what surprised me was the first three words on their sign. They read, “God is Good.” That statement caught my eye so quick I didn’t even read the rest of the sign.
I immediately grabbed an Articles of Faith card and a dollar bill. Quickly, I put the two together, rolled down the window, and signaled for the guy who was now walking away from me down the line of traffic. I also made sure the photo on the card was one of Jesus.
The Response
When my friend saw the dollar bill hanging out the window he came back to my car quickly. I told him how much I liked his sign and that God really is good. Then I added that I wanted to help him by not only giving him some money but also a card that showed what Mormons believe. Finally, I simply explained the stuff on the card was all about God and Jesus. He liked that.
The Joy at the Intersection Timeframe
That’s about all the time you have at an intersection before the light changes and you need to proceed. That’s also all the time you need when God’s calling the shots.
He let me take his picture at the end. Thank you my friend! This experience truly was joy at the intersection. It made my driving day!
